Room to grow for Bitcoin.

flexbit boosted

Since apparently @[email protected] intends to abandon the old Core PPA (or already has?), I've created a new one here for people who still prefer this method of builds/packaging:

launchpad.net/~luke-jr/+archiv

Finally I am a first-class Bitcoin citizen. The setup is inspired by the Hodl Guide:
github.com/DriftwoodPalace/gui
Key ingredients:
- Bitcoin Core launchpad.net/~luke-jr/+archiv
- Wasabi Wallet wasabiwallet.io/
- Electrum Personal Server github.com/chris-belcher/elect
- Electrum Bitcoin Wallet electrum.org/
- Tails tails.boum.org/
- Hardware wallets for a multi-signature setup.
A similar commercial alternative would be the 3-of-5 setup of Casa Hodl Platinum but it would cost $1800/year.

@saxnot Joplin helped me to migrate away from Evernote. I mainly use it for Web clipping, with a browser extension.

@lukedashjr This is heaven. Worked out of the box. Thanks a bunch, Luke.

@lukedashjr Oh, thanks for letting me know. I may have to compile myself. I am currently switching from a hardware wallet to an Electrum multi-sig setup and would very much like to use my own node over Tor which has been running since the 2X drama.

@lukedashjr Yes, I am also waiting for a new Bitcoin core PPA because 0.18.0 has a Tor driver bug.
