Takeaways from the activation discussion:
1. Unanimous support for BIP8. RIP BIP 9.
2. Overwhelming consensus that 1yr is correct timeout value (it's actually defined in blocks, so 26x2016 or maybe 87600).
3. Majority consensus for lockin false, though @lukedashjr strongly opposed.
4. No decision I could see on start time, but 2 months was done for segwit, and that didn't seem too objectionable.

get the bitcoin whitepaper directly from the utxoset. This works on a pruned node:

seq 0 947 | (while read -r n; do bitcoin-cli gettxout 54e48e5f5c656b26c3bca14a8c95aa583d07ebe84dde3b7dd4a78f4e4186e713 $n | jq -r '.scriptPubKey.asm' | awk '{ print $2 $3 $4 }'; done) | tr -d '\n' | cut -c 17-368600 | xxd -r -p > bitcoin-test.pdf

Where we're heading, presidents don't exist.

The universe was not fucking around on block 666666 for very long, and I appreciate that 😇

I've never seen bitcoiners defend a bank so damn much than in the last few weeks.

One day signal will fall, tether will not exist, and my phone / laptop will be long gone.

But my 24 words live forever.

Why stop at restricting the flow of money?

Let’s cut off access to food and water. Fuck it, all use of human energy needs to be permissioned.

If you leech my code, FUD my projects, has a history of scamming people, I'm not hosting your data on my Mastodon instance.

You are free to run your own instance and connect to mine, no one is preventing you to do that.

I said many times, not your instance not your data.

Hop onto the telegram and tell mastodon-less Pete to get on it t.me/bottlepay 😂

I wonder if the bitcoiners here would like a bottlepay mastodon bot 😇

It's not only politicians and armies you'd have to fight during a protest anymore, it's also "too large to fail" (as in unnatural gov prop-up at this point) corporations that just want you to sit down, shut up, and consume.

When it's time for a real & active revolution, I'm very concerned for it's success.

That's why I'd prefer a passive revolution via Bitcoin. Wealth flip, defunding gov, etc.

Defense, not attack.

Private companies doing whatever they want sounds good in theory until you realize that YOUR private company was forced to shut down, and private companies that are friendly with the state are riding off the backs of your slave labor.

So. Many. Distractions.

Hard to go heads down and work on bitcoin right now, if I'm being honest.

@cycryptr my V3 bitcoin node is still going from the looks of it. Connected only to V2 nodes though, glad that’s still there.

My tor only lightning is also still working and I think that’s V3 too. Maybe new connections would be an issue since that’s addressable via V3.

The entire internet, tor included, is fundamentally broken and I’ve never been so discouraged.

My version of the Great Reset is “I will own nothing and it’ll be great” until Bitcoin is $1M and I will own the world.
