Remember back when you could blow up a gas station with a cellphone.
The importance of has become abundantly clear.

"how did you know?"
"I looked into it - not long before I told you to look into it - and then you were too busy to look into it. Remember?"

"This next pump is going to rip your fucking face off."

I went to birdsite (just interested in how my follower count had diminished over the past week). But a 'promoted' tweet popped up and I realised I had, in that moment, contributed to the financial success of that product.

I have now uninstalled Twitter.

What I'd actually really like is a tutorial on how to set up an instance using Embassy from Start9.
I feel like my learning curve is going to become very steep in the next few days.

Anybody got a nice tutorial on how to create your own Mastodon instance and move your data there?

🚨 🚨 Mastodon instructional video thread!🚨 🚨

This is a short series of videos for those who need help getting Mastodon to be more functional.

Let's begin!

I've been thinking about it and I'm still concerned about Mastodon instances being a single-point-of-failure. I feel like we need some urgency implementing a contingency in the case is taken down.
We all know that bitcoin can't be stopped, but it can certainly be slowed down somewhat - particularly if this community's credibility is lost.
I can hear it now.
"If the community can be shut down, then bitcoin can be shut down too"
(I'm aware that statement is false)

Serious question.

Can Mastodon instances be 'ported' to another domain?
Ie. gets attacked/taken over/shut down.
Is there a way to transfer the server information to another domain.

This single-point-of-failure worries me considering our migration from birdsite and the cornerstone foundations of the citadel at this new and lovely community.

I told them not to worry about it.
If it became a problem, I'd just buy the branch.

Bank was worried about my overdrawn account. Said it might affect my credit rating.........

I've not been on birdsite for 2 days.
Have not missed it at all.
This place is so much nicer.

:bitcoin: IS the stable coin.
Everything else is speculation.

@petrijarvinen need me to send you an invoice?

Or need any help with lightning?

I thought UASF was impressive.
This migration is insane.
No other community could make shit happen this quick.
